CHARITY NEWS



The 8 Mile Charity Club raises funds for various charities and is headed by Stan Kozlowski and Mervyn Bremner. Stan started the idea of swimming all 8 miles to raise funds for the Conservation Trust in 2001. He has completed a total of 76 miles so far.

Mervyn formalised the 8 Mile Club with Stan in 2004 and since then has completed 77 miles to top the list of official swims.

They will be part of the maximum 50 swimmers who will be able to attempt all 8 events at the 2011 aQuelle Midmar Mile

Here are the conditions of entry into The 8 Mile Club: 1 R1000 entry fee that includes your kit, food, transport between start and finish etc at the event; 2 Minimum of R10 000 raised for the charities. You must be prepared to pay in the difference if you do not get to the R10 000.

Payment of Pledge
Payment of the pledged amount needs to be made on or before Monday 31 January 2011. There are 2 methods of payment available, Credit Card or Direct Deposit/EFT.

Credit Card
Credit card payments are processed via the Virtual Card Services (VCS) gateway. Should you choose to pay your pledge immediately you will be directed to the VCS system to complete payment.

Direct Deposit
You will receive an email confirming receipt of your pledge. Included in the email will be the account details of The 8 Mile Club/ Midmar Mile Charity and a unique reference number. THIS REFERENCE NUMBER IS TO BE USED AS THE REFERENCE WHEN MAKING PAYMENT!
