23 January 2020 – Swimmers still planning to take part in the 2020 aQuellé Midmar Mile are encouraged to get their entries in as soon as possible, as the deadline for pre-entry is just days away.

With organisers anticipating a late influx of entries for the world’s largest open water swimming event, participants have been granted extra time to sign up. The deadline was extended by three days, but online entries will finally close this Sunday, 26 January.

Racing weekend takes place from 8-9 February 2020, with four events on the Saturday from 8:15am, and four from 8:30am on the Sunday.

The aQuellé Midmar Mile is once again expected to offer an exceptional family weekend with over 12,000 swimmers anticipated to once again converge on the shores of the famous KwaZulu-Natal dam.

“We’re looking forward to another great weekend of action at Midmar in the second weekend of February,” said event organiser Wayne Riddin.

“The aQuellé Midmar Mile is not only about the elite swimmers – some of whom will be competing in the Olympics in Tokyo later this year – but also the families, schools, the teams, the charities who benefit, and of course those legends of the race who have swum it for the past 46 years.

“People often leave it to the last minute to get their entries in, so we are urging them to sign up as soon as possible before the online entry deadline of 26 January. Come and enjoy what promises to be an incredible weekend of action and fun in the stunning surroundings of the KZN Midlands,” added Riddin.

All entry information and pricing can be found online at: http://enter.midmarmile.co.za/

Last-minute entries will be accepted on the day, but these will be significantly more expensive, so swimmers are urged to rather pre-enter as soon as possible.
